Education at the Met
The Metropolitan Opera is committed to deepening student experiences with opera through access to our world-class productions, both in New York City and in schools across the country.
For over a decade, the Met’s landmark HD Live in Schools initiative has brought live opera broadcasts to students nationwide. To supplement these broadcasts, the Met crafts a series of educational materials that encourage and empower students, teachers, and community members to engage with and enjoy this art form. All of these materials are available free of charge via the links below.
Free Student Streams
Each week, watch one free opera specially selected for young audiences. Educational resources will be available from Monday through Friday, and the video will stream from Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. EDT through Friday at 5:00 p.m. EDT.
In partnership with PBS LearningMedia, the Met has made available six full operas to stream from the PBS LearningMedia website, along with ready-to-use activities that will deepen students' understanding of these iconic works.
