National Council Alumni Playlist

Since their origin with the Auditions of the Air in the 1930s, the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions have helped discover promising young opera singers and assisted them in the development of their careers. Today, the auditions take place in 42 districts and 12 regions throughout the US and Canada and are often a defining step in the artistic growth of our greatest opera stars. This playlist showcases two decades of National Council Audition winners in signature roles, from Paul Groves in 1990–91 to Ryan Speedo Green in 2010–11 and including Susan Graham, Nathan Gunn, Sondra Radvanovsky, Jamie Barton, and many more, all of whom will appear on the Met stage in the 2017 - 18 season.
