Holiday Open House
Continuing a longstanding tradition, the Met will host its annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 12-2PM, prior to the matinee performance of The Magic Flute. The Open House allowed hundreds of children and families to take part in hands-on musical explorations and experience behind-the-scenes demonstrations by members of the Met’s backstage and artistic staff, including musicians, actors, dancers, and members of the Wig and Costume Shop. After two years of virtual open houses, we were incredibly excited to welcome families back to the Met for this joyous occasion. The Open House is free to all ticketholders for the December 10 performance.
Spring Open House
Building on the success of its annual Holiday Open House, this season the Met debuted a Spring Open House on Sunday, June 4, at 1:30PM, prior to the matinee performance of Puccini’s La Bohème. The Open House allows children and families to meet members of the Met Chorus and Orchestra, view costumes from historical productions of the opera, take part in hands-on activities like face painting, play a round of “Pin the Tail on Wanda” (La Bohème’s star donkey!), and more. The Open House was free to all ticketholders for the June 4 performance. Stay tuned for more information about the 2023 Spring Open House, which will precede a matinee performance of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice.
