Michał Skowronek
This Season
Polish pianist and coach Michał Skowronek is in his first year in the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program where he will participate in the Program’s Patron Concert of opera scenes, Met Orchestra workshop with Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and annual spring recital series held at Merkin Hall. He recently served as rehearsal pianist and coach for Juilliard Opera’s production of La Clemenza di Tito, under the baton of Maestro Nimrod David Pfeffer, and as music staff for Così fan tutte with the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music. An avid recitalist and concert artist, he has collaborated on several projects including The Juilliard Pride Songbook performed at Paul Hall, a concert with Wrocław Opera commemorating Polish independence day, and a concert with the Opera Academy of the Polish National Opera titled “Lonely Moon” which was recorded and streamed on OperaVision as part of their World Opera Day initiative. In 2024, he made his Carnegie Hall debut in a concert featuring works by Polish composers and works inspired by Polish folklore. Prior to his tenure with the Polish National Opera, he was a staff pianist and répétiteur for the Vocal Department at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, where he collaborated with staff, guest artists, and students on various projects and performances. He is an alumnus of the Opera Academy of the Polish National Opera and Morningside Music Bridge Program. He holds degrees in piano performance and collaborative piano from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music and the Juilliard School, where he was a proud recipient of the Kovner Fellowship.
