Free Tickets for Furloughed Federal Employees
The Met is offering federal employees affected by the ongoing government shutdown free tickets for all performances from January 19 through January 31, 2019 (excluding the January 26 matinee). Those eligible can reserve a pair of tickets per person per performance, subject to availability, on the day of each show up to 30 minutes prior to start time by telephone (212-362-6000) or in person at the Met box office. A valid government ID must be presented when collecting tickets. Quantities are limited.
Free tickets will be available to 12 performances: Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande (January 19, 22, 25, and 31); Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur (January 19, 23, and 26); Bizet’s Carmen (January 21 and 29); the double bill of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and Bartók’s Bluebeard's Castle (January 24 and 28); and Mozart’s Don Giovanni (January 30).
