How It Works

The Met at Home: Live in HD series allows you to enjoy the artistry of the Met from Home, live and on-demand, on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. The information below will help you make sure you’re ready to enjoy the performances.

Step 1: Select from the list of upcoming live performances or past performances available on demand, and add them to your cart. If multiple subtitle options are available, please be sure to select the event with your preferred subtitle language. After checkout, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to each of the events. The links are specific to you and tied to your email address. You will also receive a reminder email three days before each live event.

Step 2: On the day of the event, click the link in the confirmation email and enjoy the performance.

Step 3: After the event, access the performance as many times as you’d like, on-demand, for 48 hours, using the same access link you received in your confirmation email.


Technical Requirements

You can access these performances on a PC or MAC in the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

Access the performances on your mobile device using the latest version of the Safari or Chrome apps.

Cast the performances to your smart TV from your desktop computer or mobile device using Chromecast or AirPlay, or connect your computer to your TV with an HDMI cable. We do not recommend trying to access the links in a connected/smart TV browser.

Frequently Asked Questions
I purchased a ticket but did not receive or lost my confirmation email. How do I access the performance?

You can access the performance from The Met at Home: Live in HD website by clicking the “Already Purchased?” button located on the individual event page and entering the email address you used to purchase your ticket.

Troubleshooting Tips
  • Try refreshing your page.
  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
  • Access the website via a private/incognito window.
  • Try using a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.).
  • Restart your computer or device.
  • Make sure you are not using a VPN service.
What if there is a problem with my order?

Our current business hours are Monday–Friday, 10AM to 6PM Eastern Time. Customer Care is also available on performance dates from 11AM until 4PM Eastern Time.

Can I access these performances with my Met Opera on Demand subscription?

These events are not included with a Met Opera on Demand subscription, and will not immediately be available as part of the Met Opera on Demand catalog.

Can I order by phone?

Phone orders are not currently available and tickets can only be purchased online.

Can I use a Met Gift Card to purchase tickets?

Currently, Met Gift Cards may not be used towards the purchase of The Met at Home: Live in HD tickets.

Can I use my Met on-account credits towards my purchase?

Currently, on-account credits may not be used towards the purchase of The Met at Home: Live in HD tickets.

Why don’t my tickets appear when I log into my Met Opera account?

The Met at Home: Live in HD tickets are purchased separately from in-house tickets or Met Opera on Demand subscriptions. Your live event ticket is only available via the link found in your confirmation email.

What happens if I miss the performance?

After the live event, the performance will be available for on-demand viewing for 48 hours. During this time, you can watch the performance as many times as you’d like using the personalized link in your confirmation email.

Are subtitles available?

All performances will include open subtitles. If multiple subtitle language options are available, please be sure to purchase the event with your preferred subtitle language.
