The ongoing Covid-19 crisis—and the resulting closure of the Met Opera and other performing arts venues—has occasioned a critical challenge for educational organizations and artistic institutions alike. During the 2020-21 season, the Met’s education department is adapting its existing HD Live in Schools program to provide both in-class and remote learning opportunities for students, teachers, and families around the globe.

This season, the HD Live in Schools program will feature:

  • 10 operas, presented in five thematically linked pairs, that have been specially selected to appeal to students
  • Access to Met Opera on Demand for student and teacher viewing
  • Curricular materials to support opera education in the classroom and via virtual learning platforms
  • An invitation to attend the Met’s National Educators Conference (to be held on a virtual platform)

As always, the HD Live in Schools program is free for participating schools and districts.
