Marketing Campaign Manager

Position Summary

The Marketing Campaign Manager supports the Senior Director, Sales and Marketing and the Director, Marketing and Strategy, in the development and delivery of a marketing and sales strategy to grow audience and meet revenue goals of the Metropolitan Opera’s annual season. This position reports directly to the Director, Marketing and Strategy, and oversees and manages the Marketing Assistant and intern program.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sales Analysis
      • Assist with regular sales reporting, tracking sales trends and providing sales analysis
      • Recommend and implement weekly dynamic pricing changes
      • Assist with ad hoc sales reporting
  • Campaign Delivery
      • Shepherd in-house season and production-specific paid advertising campaigns from conception through execution, managing deadlines, approval process and timely delivery of material
      • Coordinate creative process for direct mail, printed collateral and other marketing assets, and paid advertising, ensure materials are delivered to schedule and on budget
      • Ongoing tracking and reporting on campaign status, ensuring marketing budget is accurate and up-to-date
      • Identify and pursue cross promotional marketing opportunities and coordinate the internal setup of promotions.
      • Maintain and update direct response and other promotional activity analysis report
  • Relationships
      • Act as direct liaison between the Met’s marketing department and various media and advertising agencies
      • Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to align campaign goals, execution and reporting
      • Manage the Marketing Assistant and oversee the Marketing Intern Program
      • Assist the Senior Director, Sales and Marketing, and Director, Marketing and Strategy with scheduling, projects, and other tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  • A graduate degree or equivalent. (Preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Arts Administration, or Business Administration)
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in marketing; prior experience with arts management or marketing expected
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, must work well as part of a team and individually
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends when needed
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritize and perform in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment
  • High proficiency in Tessitura, Microsoft Office Suite, and experience using project management software
  • Knowledge and/or interest in opera/the performing arts required
