La Forza del Destino

For an entire generation, Zinka Milanov was the Verdi soprano, and this broadcast of one of her greatest roles shows why. Her enormous, dark, rich voice was even from top to bottom, and she could unfurl it dramatically to soar over orchestra and chorus, or scale it back to a haunting whisper.
