Joined the MET Orchestra: 2011
Rob Knopper, a Juilliard-trained percussionist, came from the New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas straight to the MET Orchestra.
Since winning the MET audition, Rob focused his energy on educating others on how to take auditions. He created the blogs percussion hacker and audition hacker for keen and motivated young musicians, and he recorded his debut album of snare drum’s most elaborate composition, delécluse: douze études for snare drum, in 2014.
