Coordinator, Met Opera on Demand

Position Summary

The Online Media Coordinator will provide day-to-day operational support for the Met Opera on Demand online streaming service.  Today, Met Opera on Demand offers subscribers around the world instant online access to more than 600 Met performances through the Met website and a growing collection of apps for mobile and connected TV devices.  Responsibilities include regular website and application updates in various content management systems, trafficking of marketing and promotional materials, data gathering and analytics reporting, customer service support, sales and administrative support for Met Opera on Demand: Student Access licensing, project management for new product development initiatives, and general online media production and content management.  This position reports to the Director, Met Opera on Demand and will provide cross-functional support to the Met’s Media and Marketing teams.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversee new content releases (adding 3 new video and audio titles monthly to the online catalog) and various other website updates

  • Create site graphics, compile metadata, publish website content updates
  • Coordinate with outside vendors on asset delivery, code update releases, product troubleshooting, and more

 Support marketing and promotional efforts

  • Create and publish Met Opera on Demand promotional assets across the Met website
  • Facilitate creation of email blasts and printed materials as needed, in coordination with Marketing, E-Marketing, Graphics, and other Met departments

 Compile and analyze performance data from various reporting tools

  • Generate regular, required reporting from Google Analytics, Tessitura CRM, Brightcove CMS, and other Met systems
  • Provide regular reporting updates to various Met departments as required
  • Monitor analytics data for ongoing awareness of overall business performance

 Sales and administrative support for Met Opera on Demand: Student Access

  • Sales outreach to prospective licensees (college and university libraries), including setup of database trial periods, license contract facilitations, and general sales follow-up
  • Coordinate monthly license renewals
  • Generate licensee usage reports and respond to general licensee requests and inquiries

 Product development and project management

  • Assist development teams in all phases of new product development projects: design, technical implementation, testing, app submissions, and more
  • Support overall project management optimization efforts for planning, documentation, and testing

 Customer service support

  • Provide direct email support to Met Opera on Demand subscribers for common issues such as billing questions, technical troubleshooting, and more
  • Work with Met Opera customer service department to develop, document, and modify standardized customer support procedures for Met Opera on Demand

 Provide additional support as needed to Met Media, Marketing, and Web Teams for the publishing of online media content.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook; also some experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and FileMaker Pro
  • Experience with general website management and content production, including Content Management System (CMS) tools and software
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases and tools; experience with Tessitura a plus
  • Experience with online video and related CMS tools; experience with Brightcove a plus
  • Knowledge of new and emerging media technologies, platforms, and trends
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent presentation, communication and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Openness to taking on a variety of new challenges and learning new skills
  • Interest in opera and the arts preferred
