The Metropolitan Opera

In celebration of Pride Month, we’re paying tribute to just a handful of the extraordinary LGBTQ+ composers, singers, conductors, and directors who have shared their artistry with Met audiences. Peruse the schedule and dive into a collection of related articles, videos, podcasts, and more.

This summer, children aged eight to 18 are invited to join the Met on a four-week virtual exploration of the world of opera! Each week, campers will explore a kid-friendly Met production with activities and interviews with the opera’s stars—all livestreamed for free.

Our exhibition chronicling the extensive contributions made by African American artists at the Met and the decades-long struggle for racial equality at the nation's leading opera company—originally installed in the opera house in connection with the 2019 new production of Porgy and Bess—is now available in digital format.
