Verdi at 200: Historic Broadcasts 1935-–1992
Giuseppe Verdi’s Il Trovatore had its Met premiere during the very first week of the company’s inaugural season in 1883. Since then, no other composer has been more represented at the Metropolitan Opera. Nineteen different Verdi operas have been seen in numerous productions with some of the most outstanding Verdi singers of their eras.
