Position Summary

As the junior member of the five person Special Events team, this position is responsible for the production and mailing of all invitations and collateral material related to events, as well as the maintenance of the Special Events portion of the Met’s website.  The Special Events Promotions Coordinator is also responsible for all of the department’s financial transactions. 

Primary Responsibilities

 Promotions and Solicitations

▫          Assist with copy writing for all printed and web based materials

▫          Liaise with the Graphics, Marketing and Editorial departments

▫          Obtain design and copy approvals from appropriate staff and board

▫          Work directly with printers and mail houses

▫          Meet printing and mailing schedule deadlines

▫          Develop appropriate solicitation lists

▫          Manage Special Events website

Financial Operations

▫          Process vendor invoices

▫          Track event expenses against budget

▫          Assist in the development of expense budgets

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

▫          Bachelor’s Degree

▫          Minimum 2 years professional experience in marketing and/or development

▫          Strong computer and database skills – extensive knowledge of Tessitura required

▫          Excellent proofreader, extremely detail-oriented

▫          Excellent written and oral communication skills

▫          Highly organized, ability to multi-task

▫          Ability to meet deadlines

▫          Diplomacy and excellent judgment

▫          Available for evening and weekend work
