The charming Elisabeth Söderström as the saucy servant Susanna and the ravishing, aristocratic Lisa Della Casa as the Countess are at the center of Mozart’s immortal masterpiece, based on the Beaumarchais play. Add Cesare Siepi’s irrepressible Figaro and Mildred Miller’s effervescent Cherubino, and you have one utterly enchanting comedy. Erich Leinsdorf conducts the incandescent score.
