Remembering Kristine Jepson (1962–2017)

Kristine Jepson as Ascanio in Berlioz’s Benvenuto Cellini

The Metropolitan Opera mourns the untimely death of mezzo-soprano Kristine Jepson, a gifted artist who sang more than 100 performances of 15 roles over the course of her 12-year career with the company. In addition to her accomplished artistry, Kris was known for her warm collegiality and delightful sense of humor. She was a dear friend, beloved by those who worked closely with her and respected by all. We offer our sincerest condolences to her family and friends.
