Joined the MET Orchestra: 1986

Jerry Grossman, a native of Cambridge, MA, has been Principal Cellist of the MET Orchestra since 1986.

He attended the Curtis Institute of Music and has appeared as a guest artist with the Guarneri, Vermeer, and Emerson string quartets. He teaches at the Kneisel Hall Summer Chamber Music School in Blue Hill, Maine. With James Levine and the MET Orchestra he has recorded Don Quixote by Richard Strauss for Deutsche Grammophon.
